Seeing as seven years have passed since the above posts, has anything changed? Is it now possible to combine two archives?

Nothing much as changed on this front.

I've contemplated what it would take to transfer items from one archive to another. While I can see some appeal, the complexities (and code) are significant.

I'm not saying this will never happen, but there's still a lot of features on the to-do list with better benefit/cost ratios.
